Make Money with Incent

As an affiliate, you may always be looking for new and improved ways to make money online. Although there are various ways to successfully promote your offers online, a good way to start is by looking into Incentivizing your offers in an attempt to attract more people/visitors to your site.

What exactly is Incent traffic and how can it be used to make money?

Incent traffic is when you promise something to a consumer in return for them filling out a lead or sale. Examples of things that are offered to consumers include: Points to cash in for prizes, Points to use for a game (Such as FB applications, money, gift cards, etc.), Special downloads, and so on. Incentivizing your offers (when it’s allowed by the Advertiser) is a great way to drive more users to your site, as they will be looking forward to getting their reward after they complete your offer.

Here are some examples of successful execution of Incent traffic that can be models to follow for your own marketing efforts:

Content Locking

The concept of Content Locking is really simple. When you content lock, you place the Advertiser’s Incent Offer as a pop-up on the page where your content is located. For a visitor to view the page with the content, they must complete an offer. Often times the content can be music, torrent files, or even high quality articles that people would desire access to. Even if you just simply ask visitor to join your mailing list before viewing your content, you’ll be setting up another avenue to make money.

To be successful with Content Locking, you should have:

  • Content Worth Viewing
  • Cheap Traffic
  • Affiliate Offers/Conversion Funnels that accept incentivized traffic

If you are not sure whether your affiliate program allows content locking on a specific offer, just reach out to your Account Manager directly to make sure. If you run Incent traffic on a Non-Incent offer, you are likely to cause some trouble and end up not getting paid for the leads. So always ask if not sure.

Points and Rewards based Virtual Currency

A great way of maximizing a user base with incent traffic is offering some kind of points/reward through online games. A great example is Facebook. For example, Zynga made a big splash with their Farmville game and many wondered how they were able to make such profits off of a free game. One of the answers is virtual currency! In one of Zynga’s games, CityVille, users can refuel their energy levels by having an interactive experience with advertiser ad placements. When your energy level decreases, ads are shown with an attached task, and once completed you reboot your energy. While it may seem like a small thing, this model of gaming where you achieve rewards or boosts for completing tasks (offers), is becoming a big hit in money-making.

Social Incentives

With the growth of social marketing through fan pages and viral movements, applying social incentives to your market base can achieve long standing users, as well as high profits. A social incentive can range from rewards for a testimonial, to offering prizes and gifts. The key is to make it an interactive experience for the person you are marketing to, not a quick bribe for publicity. If you can get your customers very vocal about your product or service, you can take a digital spin on word of mouth marketing to acquire new clients.

Offer Walls

Offer Walls are a great way to get the most out of your traffic. You are essentially capturing leads by sending visitors to a landing page that contains CPA,CPL, or CPM advertisements. What makes Offer Walls effective is that they are applicable to almost every traffic source. The user hits the landing page, are prompted with multiple offers that are relevant to the page they are viewing, and therefore will fill out multiple offers. Paid survey sites are a very common place to see offer walls, because they entice the person to fill them out, in addition to prompting them with similar surveys to make more gains. Offer Walls should not be limited to survey offers however, as it is crucial to be testing new offers, and optimizing based off the results.
